So the short story is that I’m very excited to have been invited to exhibit my art at a Black History Month celebration event in Peterborough. It will be held on Saturday 8th October to Sunday 9th October at embe Restaurant, 2 Burghley Road, Peterborough, PE1 2QB, UK.
The long story involves me being amazed how just putting an intention out there, declaring it to people, writing it down and believing it will happen can make positive things happen.
I remember deciding one day that it would be a good idea to start connecting with other artists and organisations in Peterborough, since I’ve only been here a short time and had no artist network. Tony Nero, a well known Peterborough artist, was one of the people I decided to connect to on Twitter and Facebook because he seemed to be out and about a lot, exhibiting and such and I thought he’d be a good person to follow and find out what’s going on. Not long after that, he contacted me through twitter asking if I’d like to exhibit at the event he was putting on for Black History Month and of course I said yes!
So below is the flyer that Tony created for the event and it would be great to see some friendly faces there if you can make it. Although don’t laugh at me if I embarrass myself in some way. Just go easy on me, I’ll be nervous!
As you can see, there will not only be art but handmade sweets, wedding flowers and live performances, so should be a good variety of things to see and enjoy.
Hope some of you can make it!
