I don’t think “safe” is necessarily a bad word. You are still expanding your boundaries and that’s good – you’re not going to get stagnant. I’m no expert on abstract art, but I think if it generates from your imagination and is not tightly realistic, then that’s a looser feel. Keep expanding, and don’t worry about being “safe”. You may find that your style is what it is no matter how much you change it – there will still be a little bit of your original style that stays prevalent and is easily recognizable in your art. Looking forward to seeing your experimentations.
