I currently have an artwork obsession: adding collage to my drawings on recycled kraft card. I have lots of ideas brewing and in order to keep the momentum going, I’m having to teach myself to accept that not every piece will be perfect. Making mistakes is a part of growing as an artist, right?
So here are some greeting cards that I’ve been working on, incorporating collage elements cut from old book pages. I love the contrast of the book pages against the kraft card:

Once I’ve refined the designs and am happy with them, I’m going to get them printed like my watercolour cards and see how they turn out.
Inspired by my work on these cards, I’ve decided to start a larger piece of artwork on A4 size kraft card. Regardless of how it turns out, I’m calling this piece ’3 Sisters’. Although I’m not yet confident working on a larger surface area with this new technique (the greeting cards are only A6 size and smaller) I’m gonna do it anyway!

These are very cool and original! nancy
Hi Nancy, thanks!
These look great so far; can’t wait to see the cards and the larger 3 sisters piece.

They look great and the collage works well with your work.
Thank you Cathy :0) I’m hoping that I can continue to develop this style as it’s really enjoyable!
These are wonderful!
Thank you!
Hi Stacey-Ann – your spare illustrations play well with the collage hair and clothing – I love these! My favorite (if I had to pick one) is the gal in the dress – I think it\’s the angle of her head which says \”I\’m so sassy\” to me! Fun!
Thanks for commenting Frances. It’s nice that you have a favourite!
Hi Stacey-Ann
Lovely work as usually,
Thanks Janet :0)
